I was truly happy throughout the month of Feb...assignments are due from March onwards, there r V-day, CNY holidays, and gatherings with frens...alas! Happiness didn’t and wouldn’t last long.
March arrived in the twinkling of an eye..before i realised, it's already end-March now.
I can't believe how I have survived through the first half of March.
First, there were no more holidays..i was in holiday mood since December. I can't take any more annual leave, because I have taken 3 days of advance leave last Nov for my exams. And it's after my 'exam' leave did SS told me that I can't take leave till after March. I feel kinda “cheated”, but what to do? i realised that it's not that Briley or SS wasn't good. It's that AIRNZ, or Leong/Rachel, was too good. I remembered that I have even a half-day off (it's free, not 'discounted' from annual leave) granted by Leong and encouraged by Rachel - for a B+ (70-74 marks) i scored for a module in my last semester. Come to think of it, i really miss the days in AIRNZ.
Second, assignments started to invade into my 'happy life', due on 2nd and 5th March. The first one was a group project, in which I encountered a 'free-rider'...and the worst thing is that she didn’t even apologised for not being able to help…
And then, I was at Edna's house together with my 'sisters' and few boyfriends on 3rd Mar, chatting away and playing blackjack till wee hours (1 am plus), when she sent them back (all of them live around Bedok/Hougang area)...n because I live in Jurong, she invited me to stay overnite. (First time u know, after knowing each other for 7 years…great hospitality Edna!! And your parents too! ) So I only started proper on the TMA due on 5th. Procrastination is a devil. I submitted 3 mins after the deadline of 12am.
Third, and the most lethal, was the assignment I had to submit on 16th. It’s 50% of the overall assessment. I only started one week before the deadline. It was hellish. As I wanted to finish up the final part of my report and presentation slides the night before my presentation, my laptop was hanged for more than an hour! Thinking that it could be crashed, due to the stupid Norman anti-virus program that has expired, I went to borrow a laptop from my new-found friend-cum-classmate. He's an angel! I had only slept for 5 hours or less every night – my worst dark eye rings ever. I thought since I had to take urgent leave the next day, I might as well catch some sleep. But I took the whole day finishing my report and slides, and had to take a cab down to SIM to give my presentation.
Gone case.
Then it came upon me, that I’m going to be as busy, if not even busier, in April. 1st n 15th are quiz dates, 9th n 30th are TMA submission dates and 20th is group project deadline…exams r on 15th n 24th May…OMG.
It’s gonna be a nightmarish Piggy year for me, and there aren’t any more annual leave after May throughout this year. = (
