Love

There’s good news which I wanna share with u all on this special V-day. I’m engaged! He proposed to me last Friday during the dinner. It was an advance V-day dinner, as well as our 28th month anniversary. We had dinner at Dan Ryan’s, next to Regent Hotel.

I think he has broken the record, because when I announced this to a few close friends, they asked, “With a diamond engagement ring?” “Any flowers to go along with?” “What did he do? Tell me!”

The fact is that there was only my wedding band. U know, he bought a pair, but he placed my ring into another smaller box. And he asked me the four words. And I was laughing. And that’s it. No engagement ring, no flowers, nothing.

But what’s the big deal? As I told those friends of mine, I love him. I will marry him even if there isn’t any marriage proposal, let alone a diamond ring, or a bouquet of flowers more expensive than usual, due to extremely high mark-ups prior to the V-day.

Comparisons wont make relationships last.

Oh yes, the wedding bands weren’t expensive too.

We are not rich, we don’t come from rich families, and I would rather we use the money on better furniture/ appliances, better wedding dinner..the list goes on. Do you know how many thousands will be spent? A new house, new furniture, new appliances, renovation, wedding dinner at the hotel, gowns and suits, wedding album, honeymoon………………………………………………………………………………

In fact, I am so happy! I feel so blessed. He’s my first love, my husband-to-be, my prince charming, my life-partner and the right one. I will never get to taste the bitterness of break-up(s)…woohoo! Yes, we have made a pact to make our marriage last for the rest of our lives. And I’m waiting for the vows to be promised on the actual day. That’s a formality, but still, it’s so meaningful, perhaps the most meaningful and important day of my life.

Romance I guess, isn’t measured by diamonds, nor flowers. He’s romantic in the sense that he doesn’t shout at me at all, doesn’t lost his temper on me (u r right – we have never had a heated argument at all), bought me the dinners, lunches, movies, and many, many gifts..not to say the little things he has done for me throughout the 28 months.

I have so much to say, but I think if I continue, I won’t stop man! Haha..that’s the power of love.

This post, is dedicated to my most beloved DD. It’s a different type of love letter.

They say your parents and grandparents will die and leave you, your siblings and cousins will have their own families and leave you, your children and grandchildren will also get married and leave you, but your beloved hubby won’t. He will be together with you for the rest of your life, right after you get married. Of course there’s the Buddha and the Dharma, but since today’s V-day, I shan’t focus on that. In this life, I shall spend the longest period of my life span with my DD…Yes I do, DD. I love you for the rest of my life. Muackz!

If there's something which I can do, I will still wanna quit this job. Sometimes, i feel like a hypocrite. I don't really like the errands they ask me to do, but I'll still have to, while putting up a happy face...sometimes, I feel that I'm beginning to lose myself. I don't understand myself - what do I really want - stay or leave?

I thought things would get better after going out for lunches together this week when the boss' not around...but I was quite wrong. I still can't get over some things.

Today's supposed to be a really happy day for me. DD and I are celebrating our 28th month anniversary-cum-Valentine's Day in advance, and I was in a happy mood.

But AC's bad mood and anger passed to me. It wasn't me who made him angry or things like that. Maybe he just wanted to vent his anger, or that I said the wrong words - I shouldn't be talking or asking about 'something which he may think is stupid'. I feel like an idiot today from lunchtime onwards.

Sometimes I like him - he shares his knowledge with me - knowing that I know nuts about certain issues. But sometimes, I feel stupid in front of him. Today's worse, I can't 'click' with him at all.

I admit - I'm critical about the impression I give to people - especially my seniors, and how they think of me.

I think I'll be embarrassed to see him on Monday.
