very boring..no mood to work..who will have the mood to work knowing that a long weekend is approaching - in fact, A WHOLE NEW YEAR IS APPROACHING? What's more, I have a company dinner tonite and a gift exchange later in the afternoon...Company dinner at Mezza9 followed by drinks at Bar None..wowowowowo!! but hey! I am also in the midst of the annual Buddhist retreat at KMS...that means I have to be a vegetarian while avoiding alcohol...sounds good? yucks..I can't enjoy much...not shiok! But for the sake of practicing Dharma......
RM is out for lunch! If she's gd enuf to be back in exactly an hour's time, then i'll have my lunch at 1.30pm...yucks (again)..and i'm hungry already..and I need to buy smtg urgently!
Yar, I'm good..i let RM go out for lunch at the expense of my hunger..i attend Buddhist retreat and become a vegetarian at the expense of enjoying a super expensive and sumptuous dinner and drinks...but i tell u, the feelings' rather yucky..
Haiz...why am i saying all these? I feel rather 'sinful''..haha..better recite more Manis..wait - i'm contradicting myself again..
The date and time aren't right again.

Greeting Cards?
I was waiting for the shuttle bus to go to Suntec for work today, when I saw a teenage gal posting many greeting cards...she was looking through the envelopes again cautiously before throwing all of them into the mail post, and i caught a glimpse of the people she sent the cards to - Zixian, Angeline, Joseph, Guanxin etc...I didn't mean to look at those, but the names were written so big and clear.
When was the last time I literally sent out greeting cards by post? I forgot...that must have been a long time ago. Not even one, let alone a number.
I helped my colleagues to send those cards though. They were sending to overseas countries like Australia, New Zealand and London..yup, they have quite a number of overseas friends.
What do u think? I feel that sending cards overseas seems more interesting than sending cards locally. You may not have contacted or even seen an overseas friend for ages, and hey! Can you imagine how happy he/she will be upon receiving your X'mas card...that's so warming!
Most people would rather send e-cards..it's so convenient, and high-tech (u can personalise it by creating some of the designs) and cheap! I mean, it's FOC! Greeting cards cost at least $0.80 (that is, if u buy from supermarkets)..some cost even more - like Hallmark, they charge about a few dollars for just a card! What about postage?
Or smses - they are free within your service line bundle monthly. At least they cost $0.05 per sms if you are using prepaid cards, that is.
Or here! at blogs! If you are reading my blog now, well, Merry Christmas and a happy new year to u! May u enjoy many returns next year!
It's true that I have many friends, and some whom I have not contacted for ages, but I guess I'm just too lazy to buy cards, write greetings and well-wishes on them and even dig out friends' addresses - come to think of it - I may not even have their addresses on hand! Hai...
Anyway, it just seems so strange seeing people post greeting cards - it's kinda outdated isn't it? But still, a greeting card sends very deep sincerity, and it tells the receiver that the sender is thinking about him/her. That's just so nice, right?
At the most, I may just give a card to DD - by hand. That is, when I'm meeting him...Haha.
Would u send greeting cards to your friends by post?
PS: the date and time are wrong le. I won't stay up that late to write blogs le...

Gossips
I dun deny that Huang Yiliang is my best supporting actor out of the 5 nominees - BUT - really, I can't stand the way he mentioned about his ex-wife, Lin Meijiao. Was he criticising her, or was he sorry for her? I dun understand what his real intentions were. He made my heart skipped a beat - not because he's handsome or captivating - but because of his 'sharp and sour' words, and expressions...
That was indeed an informal event, when it should have been a formal one. Changing venue is a fresh idea, but the whole atmosphere was quieter than previous years. No cheering, whistling and boo-ing by huge groups of fans. Somemore, it's much smaller too, all artistes were seated in a very cramped area, and too close to one another.
The costumes were not as interesting as previous years...
Fann's acting seemed better than Ivy's...
Li Nanxing deserves to be the best actor, even though Qi Yuwu's acting was good too...
Glad that Christopher Lee kinda repented, and that his relationship with Fann has worked out smoothly..hope that they'll get married! Then the Singapore paparazzi/reporters can feed the papers for days with this 'food'...
Michelle's relationship with Chen Hongyu seemed very good - they were so lovey-dovey...but somehow, I feel that Michelle's much glamorous than him. Is she doing better than him as well?
I think Mark Lee should go and polish up his Chinese.
Superstars' performances were very messy. Dun really know what they were doing.
So is it underrun or overrun? It's so irritating!
A lady was giving instructions and was heard (for a long time somemore) while Qi Yuwu was giving his speech...should have better 'sound' control..
If overseas guests had their speeches prepared by the organisers, shouldn't award-winning artistes have their speeches examined by them as well? haha..
I have more negative pointers to comment on Star Awards 2006 than positive ones, maybe because I watched the 43rd Golden Horse Awards on the same day. We are 'peanuts' compared to them...'Kanasai' (by Gurmit Singh). Well, maybe I shouldn't even compare at all. After all, the basis isn't the same in the first place. Golden Horse Awards are based on HK movies, whereas Star Awards are based on local dramas and varieties shows...HK movies are for at least few Asian countries with huge Chinese population. SG shows are, well just for SG.
One last thing on Zoe: why didn't she wear any sponsored jewellery? Or did I fail to notice that? Why wasn't she invited to give out the awards? Is it because she blurted out too much in last year's event, and caused chaos?
It's really 'thunders big, raindrops very small'...
I think Mediacorp should 'repent' and think of better ways/improvements to revive this annual big show, otherwise, viewership will drop, less products/services would be advertised on TV, and Mediacorp would make some losses from the reduced advertising revenue...

Complicated thoughts and feelings
Let me show u how a simple-minded gal can have complicated thoughts and feelings..or are these just contradictions of one another? My human brain is a complex, unreplaceable one, with lotsa 'wires' connecting to one another in different combinations. My heart/mind (yeah, I can't differentiate that) is a simple one, with a very rough approximation of 1,000,000 to the power of 1,000,000 (u see, this is the simplest I can think of, but even a superscript for 'to the power of 1,000,000' isn't even applicable here...~grins~) less 'wires' than my brain.
All I know is that 'heart' is an organ, which is tangible, but is also a descriptive word on feelings and emotions...'mind', however, is something intangible and which I can't imagine at all.
Hey, after checking on Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English online, 'mind' is, --- wait --- what! 'uncountable and countable'? 'Your thoughts or your ability to think, feel, and imagine things'. Example: 'It is impossible to understand the complex nature of the human mind'.
Huh, does that mean that the mind is as complex as the human brain, if not more/less?
After all, 'brain' is defined as the organ inside your head that controls how you think, feel and move. By the way, 'emotional responses are a function of the right hemisphere of the brain' (that means ur emotions come from the right side of ur brain).
Seems that the brain and the mind are quite similar, judging from the definitions from the online dictionary. Maybe the brain is more rational than the mind. The mind is more emotional than the brain.
On the contrary, the 'heart' is defined as 'the organ in your chest which pumps blood through your body'. However, as i mentioned above, the 'heart' can be a descriptive word, you know, like 'my heart will go on', 'a bleeding heart', 'piercing through my heart' etc...
Definitely, the heart is much simple than the human mind or brain.
But then again, I have a different question now. Which is more complex - the human brain or the human mind?
Ok, if I continue, I will be a psychic already.
