Hong Kong Trip Foreword

Oh my oh my, i think i have written 50 blogs already!! but it's been soooo long since i logged in here...lol...

Anyway, it's time for a small celebration...smtg to share about our trip to Hong Kong...hee..sorry, but we can't shake up a bottle of champagne on blog mah, so my 'small celebration' refers to smtg really worth leaving traces here, isn't it e best way to celebrate writing 50 blogs and still not giving blogging up?!?!

Okok..back to our trip.

Strictly speaking, it's our first 'long' overseas trip, and a 'pre-honeymoon trip' after our ROM...heehee...

Going forward, let's review our itinerary, hotel accommodation, and other miscellaneous before we landed on Hong Kong...

Itinerary (5D4N from 26th March to 30th March 2008) : -

Day 1 - SIN/HKG->Lantau Island
Day 2 - HKG/Macau->Temples and The Venetian
Day 3 - Macau/HKG->Disneyland
Day 4 - HKG-> Hong Kong Island (The Peak, Madam Tussauds Wax Museum, Lan Kwai Fung) & Ladies Market
Day 5 - HKG/SIN ->Wong Tai Sin Temple

Flight via JetStar - airfare is $450 per person

Hotel: 1st nite @ The Metropark (3-star) near Prince Edward Station - SGD140/nite

2nd nite @ The Regency (4-star) in Taipa Island, Macau - SGD105/nite

3rd and 4th nites @ The Stanford near Mongkok Station - SGD220/nite

Airfare and hotel charges already added up to almost SGD800 per person!! The few reasons are

1. we booked airfares via phone booking, hence more charges are added.

2. Some impt conventions and the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens took place at the time of our holiday. With high demand for hotel rooms leading to full occupancy in hotels, charges went higher.

Miscellaneous expenses amounted to SGD 800 per person including meals, transport, admission tickets to Disneyland (HKD295 on regular days and HKD350 on peak/special days), ferry tickets to and from Macau (app. HKD275 two-way) and of course, for shopping!!

Exchange rate is SGD1 = HKD5.56

Temperature: app. 21-25 degree celsius (bring a jacket along)

World Time: +GMT8.00 (no time difference)

Flight duration: app. 4 hrs

The detailed 'foreword' is to help friends of mine who are/ will be planning for a holiday to Hong Kong, and for me to keep as a reminder for our possible future trips to Hong Kong again...(",)
